This Privacy Policy explains how Meshtech (India), which operates the Meshverse brand and website ("we", "us"), collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data. We act as the Data Fiduciary for your personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), the DPDP Rules, 2025, and the Information Technology Act, 2000. For customers in India, this policy applies in addition to, and prevails over, the general privacy policy generated by our e-commerce platform, Shopify.
1. Personal data we collect
- Name, phone number and email address: when you place an order, create an account, contact us, sign up to our list or submit a review.
- Billing and delivery address: when you place an order.
- Order and transaction details (products, amounts, payment method, order history): when you buy from us.
- Payment confirmation from our payment gateway. We never receive or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN or net-banking password.
- Messages, photos and reviews you send us: when you contact customer care or submit a review.
- Device and usage data (IP address, browser, pages viewed, cookies): automatically, when you use the website.
2. Why we use it
- To process, pack, ship and deliver your orders, and to send order and delivery updates.
- To process payments, cancellations, returns and refunds.
- To answer your questions and resolve complaints.
- To publish reviews you submit, with your full name and city, after moderation.
- To send you offers and updates by email, SMS or WhatsApp, only if you have agreed. You can opt out at any time.
- To keep the website secure and prevent fraud and misuse.
- To understand how the website is used and improve it.
- To comply with legal obligations, such as tax, accounting and consumer protection laws.
3. Your consent
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, given when you use the website, place an order or submit information to us, or where the DPDP Act allows processing for a legitimate use, such as fulfilling an order you have placed or complying with law. You may withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, by emailing our Grievance Officer. Withdrawal does not affect processing already done, and we may be unable to complete an order that depends on the data withdrawn.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed with:
- Shopify, which hosts our store and processes data on our behalf;
- payment gateways and banks, to process payments and refunds;
- courier and logistics partners, to deliver your orders and returns;
- messaging and email providers, to send order updates and, with your consent, marketing messages;
- analytics and security providers, to run and protect the website; and
- government authorities, when required by law.
These partners may only use your data for the service they provide to us.
5. Storage and transfers outside India
Our store runs on Shopify, so your data may be stored or processed on servers outside India. Any such transfer is made as permitted under the DPDP Act and the rules made under it.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Order and invoice records are kept for the period required by tax and accounting laws. Marketing data is deleted when you opt out or withdraw consent. When data is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
7. How we protect it
We use reasonable security safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, secure payment gateways, and access controls that limit who can see your data. If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as required by law.
8. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
- access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed;
- correct, complete or update inaccurate or incomplete data;
- erase your data when it is no longer needed, unless we must keep it by law;
- withdraw consent at any time;
- nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of your death or incapacity; and
- raise a grievance with us, and then with the Data Protection Board of India.
To use any of these rights, email our Grievance Officer. We may ask you to verify your identity first.
9. Children
Our website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data of anyone under 18 years of age without verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian, as required by the DPDP Act. We do not track, profile or send targeted advertising to children. If you believe a child has shared personal data with us without such consent, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart, remember your preferences, secure the website and understand how it is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features, like the cart, may not work without them.
