• What can I grate with this grater?
It works well for everyday kitchen ingredients such as ginger, garlic, cheese, chocolate, vegetables, coconut and citrus zest. The raised stainless-steel grating teeth are designed to cut efficiently without requiring excessive pressure.
• What size are the grating holes?
The grater has two different hole sizes:
- Large grating holes: approximately 3.30–3.35 mm
- Zesting holes: approximately 2 mm
This allows you to choose between a coarser grate and a finer zest, depending on what you’re preparing.
• What is the exact length of the grater?
The grater measures approximately 26 cm in overall length, making it long enough for a comfortable grip while remaining easy to store.
• What is the width of the grating surface?
The grater measures 16 cm at its widest point, providing a broad surface for comfortable, efficient grating.
• Does food get stuck between the grating teeth?
Small amounts of soft or fibrous ingredients can occasionally remain around any grating teeth. Rinsing the grater immediately after use, preferably from the reverse side, makes it much easier to clean.
Will the gold coating peel off?
PVD is deposited directly onto the prepared stainless-steel surface rather than applied like ordinary paint. This creates a thin, hard and strongly adhered finish.
However, like any decorative metal finish, it should not be treated as scratch-proof. Avoid steel wool, abrasive powders and aggressive scraping.
• Is it made from stainless steel?
Yes. The grater is made from premium food-grade stainless steel.
It is available in two finishes:
Silver: Classic stainless-steel finish.
Gold: Stainless steel finished with a premium gold-tone PVD coating which is food grade.
• Will the grater bend under pressure?
The grater has a thick, sturdy stainless-steel construction designed to stay firm during use. It can comfortably handle heavier everyday grating without easily bending or flexing.
• What's the easiest way to clean it?
Rinse it soon after use under running water, preferably from the reverse side of the grating surface, and wash with mild dishwashing liquid and a soft sponge or brush.
For the gold PVD version, avoid steel wool, abrasive scrubbers and harsh cleaning chemicals to help preserve the finish.
Whats the gold finish material?
The base material is premium food-grade stainless steel with a gold-coloured PVD surface finish.The gold finish is created using PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) over stainless steel. Before coating, the stainless steel undergoes ultrasonic cleaning, drying and vacuum ion etching to prepare the surface for the PVD finish.
